General Education Requirements

Take one class from one of the GELO categories below for a minimum of 3 credits.

AND

Select a class from the GELO category below for a minimum of 3 credit hours.

GELO #3 - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

• ECON 1200 Personal Finance   (recommended)

GELO #4 - Global Awareness and Citizenship

GELO #5 - Analytical, Quantitative, and Scientific Reasoning

• MATH 1020 Technical Math  (recommended) or higher or a physics course in GELO #5.

Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Tech Courses

Course offerings and prerequisites will be determined by the program. A grade of “C” or higher in all AGST classes is required to receive a Diesel-AG Equipment Service Tech Diploma.  

• ACFS 1015 - Success@SCC Credits: 1

• Take 6 hours from the following options:

• AGST 1111 - Transportation Maintenance & Repair Fundamentals Credits: 6 (Recommended)
• ASEP 1111 - Transportation Maintenance & Repair Fundamentals Credits: 6
• ASST 1111 - Transportation Maintenance & Repair Fundamentals Credits: 6
• AUTT 1007 - Auto Shop Safety & Repair Credits: 3
• AUTT 1110 - Basic Automotive Maintenance Credits: 3
• AUTT 1111 - Transportation Maintenance & Repair Fundamentals Credits: 6
• AUTT 1901 - Automotive Cooperative Experience Credits: 3
• DESL 1111 - Transportation Maintenance & Repair Fundamentals Credits: 6

• And take 6 hours from the following options:

• AGST 1116 - Electrical Fundamentals Credits: 6 (Recommended)
• ASEP 1116 - Electrical Fundamentals Credits: 6
• ASST 1116 - Electrical Fundamentals Credits: 6
• AUTT 1006 - Automotive Electrical Repair Credits: 1
• AUTT 1016 - Transportation Electrical Concepts Credits: 3

• AGST 1231 - Fuel Systems, Spraying Equipment, Precision Guidance & Controls Credits: 6 (Recommended)
• AGST 1261 - Powertrains & Hydraulic Systems Credits: 6 (Recommended)
• AGST 2331 - Advanced Electrical/HVAC Systems Credits: 6
• AGST 2361 - Engines and Emission Systems Credits: 6
• AGST 2431 - Advanced Powertrains Credits: 6
• AGST 2461 - Planting, Harvesting and Haying Equipment Systems Credits: 6

Total: 31 hours

Students are required to provide or purchase a basic tool set during the first semester. A required tool list and more information can be acquired online at www.southeast.edu/diesel-ag-equipment-service-technology.

Students are also required to wear program shirts or sponsoring employer uniforms while in classroom or laboratory settings. Shirts may be purchased in the SCC Campus Store.
