Healthcare Management, A.A.S.

|
Healthcare Management program provides students desiring to further their career into supervisor positions in healthcare with the skills and knowledge needed to work in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will learn how to build teams, supervise effectively, and understand planning and decision-making processes. Students take courses in areas of human resources, finance and information management, strategic planning, quality growth and control. They also have the chance to study management strategies. The program provides students with a healthcare management practicum that allows them to demonstrate what they have learned.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of the coursework in the following areas is required for the AS Healthcare Management. A minimum of 60 approved semester credits are required for graduation. Please reference the Academic Transfer, A.S. course listings for specific courses and electives in each category:

Healthcare Management Core Classes
Pharmacy Technician Option
Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician Program are eligible for this degree. The classes listed below will apply to the Healthcare Management Award. Students who have completed partial program credit, please see your advisor for degree plan.
Medical Assisting Option
Graduates of the Medical Assisting Program are eligible for this degree. The classes listed below will apply to the Healthcare Management Award. Students who have completed partial program credit, please see your advisor for degree plan.
Practical Nursing Option
Graduates of the Practical Nursing Program are eligible for this degree. The classes listed below will apply to the Healthcare Management Award. Students who have completed partial program credit, please see your advisor for degree plan.
Other Healthcare Professions
In addition to the General Education Courses (15 hours) the ACFS course (1 hour) and the Healthcare Management Core classes (8 hours) listed above:
- Take a minimum of 6 credit hours of Healthcare Management elective courses.
- Additionally, take approved Academic Transfer Courses or Health Electives to meet the minimum of 60 credit hours required for the degree.
