ENER 1115 Syllabus

ENER 1115 - Mechanical and Fluid Fundamentals


This course will give the student a basic understanding of pumps, valves, compressors, and heat exchangers. It will explain the proper procedure on how to start, operate and shut down pumps. Common inspection and maintenance practices, as well as common operating problems of centrifugal pumps will be discussed. Functions and characteristics of reboilers, cooling towers, and refrigeration theory and principles will be covered in detail. Lab must be taken concurrently.
