- Professional truck driver
As a professional truck driver, graduates of the program will be employed as a long distance over-the-road driver, regional driver or a local driver.
Persons considering this occupation need to understand that long-distance driving is a dramatic lifestyle change. Drivers will sometimes be away from home for long periods of time.
Program graduates are working for trucking companies in southeast Nebraska and throughout the United States.
Program Overview
This program is located on the Milford Campus. On-campus housing is available. Graduates will obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Students will sharpen their driving skills on the private SCC backing range and quiet rural highways before progressing to highway and city driving.

The Professional Truck Driver Training program prepares students for a career in truck driving in both intrastate and interstate commerce.
This is an 8-week intensive truck driving course offered twice a semester and a summer session. Students learn to operate tractor-trailers in various environments. Training includes driving on the city streets and rural roads, two-lane and interstate highways and multiple backing locations.

Monday through Thursday
8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Friday
8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
