SCC’s Professional Truck Driver Training Program has recently made improvements to the program which require review by the institution’s accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission, to ensure the highest quality programming available to students. Please contact sherwick@southeast.edu with any questions. Special Program Requirements Prior to Start of Class
- Minimum age of 18 years.*
- High School Diploma or GED®.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Copy of driving record for the past three years from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Physically qualified under the Department of Transportation regulations. Must have a certified medical examiner complete the form.
- Pass a D.O.T. pre-employment drug screen at a SAMHSA approved location.
- Obtain a CDL Learners Permit by taking three written tests at the DMV.
(Combination vehicles, air brakes and general knowledge) - Acceptance into the program may be contingent on the quality of the driving record, results of the drug screen, and results of the D.O.T. physical.
- All reviews will be made by the program.
- *Federal regulations require the applicant to be at least 21 years old to work in Interstate Commerce.
