NURS 1400 - Introduction to Professional Nursing This course is designed as an introduction to the profession of nursing. Orientation to the Associate Degree Nursing Program, including an overview of the program concepts is provided. Emphasis is on the nursing profession and role of the nurse within the healthcare team, historical and theoretical development of nursing as a discipline, health illness continuum, legal/ethical concepts, cultural skills, and professional standards in nursing practice.
