ECED 1640 - School Age Practicum This course is designed to provide an understanding of the developmental stages of children from five to eight years of age by participating in hands-on learning experiences in selected child care settings. Students will develop an awareness of appropriate adult/child interactions while developing positive employee skills. Basic skills in planning and implementing a daily routine and curriculum activities for toddlers are also presented. Students are required to complete a minimum of 45 clock hours of practical work experience in a two day per week format. Attendance at orientation sessions is required. A nominal fee will be assessed for liability insurance coverage on each student.
Location: L Credits: 1 Lab Hours: 45 Prerequisite(s): ECED 1230 & ECED 1060 . Corequisite: Co-enrolled in ECED 1220 if this is the first practicum.
