General Education Requirements


Contact your program advisor to select general education courses from each category which will meet your program’s graduation requirements.

Take one class from each GELO category listed below:
GELO #1 - Speech Communication Credits: 3
GELO #2 - Written Communication  Credits: 3
GELO #5 - Analytical, Quantitative, and Scientific Reasoning Credits: 3    

Select classes from the GELO categories listed below for a minimum of 6 credit hours.  
No classes from the same GELO category.
GELO #4 - Global Awareness and Citizenship
GELO #3 - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
GELO #6 - Career and Life Skills.

Total: 15 hours


Automotive Courses


Course offerings and prerequisites will be determined by the program. A grade of “C” or higher is required in any pre-requisite course to progress through the automotive technology program.

Students are required to provide or purchase a basic tool set during the first semester. A required tool list and more information can be acquired online at www.southeast.edu/automotive.

Students also are required to wear program shirts while in class or laboratory settings. Shirts are available for purchase through the SCC Campus Store.

All instructors in this area are ASE certified in the areas they teach.
