Notification of Acceptance: Fall Semester: After April 15th Upon notification of acceptance, program students will have 15 days to submit the following requirements to the Health Sciences Division via email (healthsciences@southeast.edu). Failure to submit the following requirements will result in a student being unable to enroll in the program and their program spot will be given to an alternate. It is highly recommended students complete the following requirements and submit documentation prior to notification of acceptance. - Copy of current American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR card.
- Documentation of national registry as an EMT or Nebraska EMT license. EMT registry or licensure must remain current throughout the Paramedic program.
- Completed SCC Student Health Statement. Please note a number of immunizations take more than 15 days to obtain so beginning the health statement prior to acceptance is important.
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement is any process where a program formally recognizes prior learning of a student and applies that recognition toward meeting the program requirements. Advanced placement is applied on a case-by-case basis and allows a student to “place out” of a specified program didactic, laboratory, clinical, or field requirements. This may shorten the time to complete the program and is an alternative pathway to program completion and eligibility for the National Registry or state examination at the paramedic level. Advanced Placement students may be but are not limited to one of the following: - Licensed Physicians
- Registered Nurses
- Out-of-state Paramedics
- Non-CAAHEP Paramedic program graduates
- Students who have completed a program and have been unable to pass the National Registry Exam
- US military medics
