Program Overview
This program teaches students the concepts, principles, skills, and attitudes needed to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who work with patients throughout their lifespan. Clinical and lab experiences provide students with the opportunity of learning by doing. Licensed Practical Nurses are valuable members of the healthcare team.
Program Options
- Full-Time: Offered on the Beatrice and Lincoln campuses (hybrid online or hybrid).
- Part-Time: Offered on the Beatrice and Lincoln campuses (hybrid online or hybrid).
- Hybrid Online Option: Class hours are delivered online (with the exception of proctored exams), lab hours on campus and clinical hours at designated sites.
- Hybrid Option: Class hours are primarily provided in a face-to-face environment, lab hours on campus and clinical hours at designated sites.
Types of Jobs Available
Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) and apply for licensure in their state of choice. After licensure, LPNs work in a variety of settings including acute care, long term care, rehabilitation, community/school settings, and clinic settings.
The Associate Degree Nursing program at SCC permits the advanced placement for Licensed Practical Nurses.
