NURS 1100 - Foundations of Nursing Practice


This introductory course provides the beginning nursing student foundational concepts essential in the profession of nursing and the delivery of safe nursing care.  Students will explore ways to support and communicate with individuals and families in managing their own health and promoting interprofessional collaboration. Emphasis will be placed on the nursing process and the development of clinical reasoning.  The concepts of clinical judgment, decision-making, and quality improvement will be introduced.
